How to change system audio settings?

Hi, Does someone know a means to change audio settings of windows system such as default audios devices in a C++ program? thanks for your help.

You use the Mixer API functions. That interface is a real pain in the hindquarters. But it is what you are stuck with if you want to make your own Volume Control, just like the Windows volume control, including routing what devices go to what (Line In, Line OUt, Microphone, Recording, playback, speakers, etc.). I've starting working on one for my application but I have not completed it. Brian
